CONCERT
BuzZ’ Ayaz
Fresh Eastern-Mediterranean Psychedelics | BuzZ’ Ayaz (CY)
🗓️ Saturday 14/10 🕗 19:30
📍 Lumina Botanical gardens
This newly-born project led by Antonis Antoniou –founder of award-winning bands Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke– brings a fresh air of Eastern Mediterranean psychedelia, rock and blues. A dynamic offbeat groove emitted from the tribal-like drumming and the fierce bass clarinet riffs produces a grimy trance-like reverie. At the same time, an alert and sparky energy runs through the sharp and often unexpected arrangements, keeping a tight grip. The result is a fuzzy urban soundscape of snazzy synth textures and dubby electronics, 70s psych organ allusions, growling reed utterances, big beats and microtonal Anatolian melodic spices.

I began studying piano and theory at a very young age. I wrote and orchestrated original music for the theatre and performed in shows as an actress and live musician.
With the current Running Blue Orchestra, we have been inseparable since 2015. In 2014 I settled in Berlin. Since then, I have signed soundtracks for award-winning feature films and short films. In 2023 I was distinguished at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Malta, with a nomination for best original musical score for Gianna Americanou’s motion picture .Dog.
So far I have released 4 studio albums and a compilation of nine Greek verse songs from movie soundtracks until 2020. Veego Records recently released another vinyl with live recordings from selected concerts with the Running Blue Orchestra. My musical style has a very personal tone that mutates and intersects different genres.

We combine fast beats and lyrical ritualistic elements. We are merging analogue with digital means and experimental ways of narration. Our lyrics comment on a variety of topics spanning from Cypriot and Middle Eastern cultural myths to contemporary European literature. We are exploring boundaries and structures within the lens of fiction. We understand our rehearsal time as a ritualistic moment where an entity escapes between our materials, the music, the lyrics and our physical presence. Working with live electronics, acoustic & electric instruments, we combine fast beats with house and techno influences together with stories/poems without being limited in one language.
The band was formed following an invitation from Tapper, Dec 2022

Sorryteller likes to make his drum machines sound like synthesisers and his synthesisers sound like drums. This time he will also add some samples that sound like… samples.

My name is Constantinos, and I mostly go by my DJ name, “Sixonesix”. My alias, “Sorryteller”, allows me to experiment with electronic instruments and effects and create noises and melodies with the goal to make people move. If this does not happen, well… I am sorry.
