This year’s international program includes engaging workshops, live performances and concerts, film screenings, interactive games and much more, and is suitable for kids and adults of all ages. The Festival explores issues of colonialism and intersectionality but does so in a creative, participatory manner, engaging communities and listening to their very own lived experiences.

Glauco explores the collective memory of British colonization on the island through forms of resistance stemming from locals. Glauco explores the memory of locals by re-enacting moments they remember more vividly. The proposal displays elements of this collective memory, elevated to talismans or objects embodying a meaning and memory of key historical moments.
Bio
Glauco Canalis is an artist and documentary photographer from Sicily investigating the identity of the Mediterranean. His research focuses on youth and underrepresented communities, architecture and the landscape these inhabit.

Bird ringing is very important for the study of migratory birds. It allows us to learn about their dispersal, migration, longevity, behaviour and other life traits. It is also an opportunity for people to see birds up close, and learn more about the specific species being ringed, alongside bird monitoring and conservation.

Founded in 2003, BirdLife Cyprus is the most active non-governmental, non-profit nature conservation organization in Cyprus. Through science, advocacy, education and on the ground conservation work, BirdLife works to protect wild birds, their habitats and wider biodiversity in Cyprus.

Eva Georgy is an alumnus of the Ecole(s) du Sud network and participates in the framework of the Miramar Residency Program with the support of D6 EU. Miramar is a Mediterranean network of academic, artistic and cultural actors that aims to support the professional development of young artists and art workers and to create opportunities for cultural exchange based on solidarity, reciprocity and hospitality.

The workshop will be facilitated by Natalia Panagiotou, Yasemin Collective and is part of the Erasmus+ project Re-Start by the Center for Social Innovation – CSI Cyprus. Τhe Center for Social Innovation (CSI) is a Research and Development Organization, which focuses on fostering social innovation that can bring about a positive change in local, national, regional, and global communities.
Conceptualized and produced by Xarkis NGO, KaFEMio is a space – for women that is run by women – which came from the need to celebrate them, nurture their well-being and empower them.

Bio
Evanthia (Evi) Tselika is an assistant professor at the University of Nicosia. Her research focuses on the history of art and contemporary social art practices, with an emphasis on environmental and cultural history.
Maria Hadjimichael is a scholar/activist focusing on the fields of political ecology, environmental politics and governance of the Commons, with her main focus being the sea and the coastline.
Andreas Kyprianou studied Forestry and Natural Environment at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2003-2008) and postgraduate studies at TEPAK in Energy Resources Management (2010-2013). He works in the Forest Department and comes from Agros.
Vasiliki Anastasi is an environmentalist with a degree in Environmental Sciences (University of Reading), and postgraduate studies in Nature Conservation (University College London) and Learning in Natural Sciences (University of Cyprus). She has been working in the field of nature conservation through civil society for more than 10 years.
